Guwahati: India’s ambassador to the United States, India, the current G-20 president, is prepared to share its advantages and accomplishments with the globe, as per Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
Addressing to a full audience of distinguished Indian-Americans at the India House in New York, Sandhu said that the collaboration between India and the United States will not only be beneficial to the two countries but will also have global repercussions.
Sandhu stressed that India is prepared to share its strengths and accomplishments with the world, from vaccinations and talents to the digital public good as well as what they learn from others, as the G-20’s current president. The G-20 is a significant gathering of the 20 largest established and emerging economies in the world.
Partnerships in the areas of space, defence, semiconductors, and cutting-edge technology were announced by India and the U.S. in January. The bilateral pact is yet another illustration of how the United States isolates China while strengthening ties with New Delhi in crucial areas.
According to Sandhu, both U.S. President Joe Biden and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have faith in the efficacy of democracies. “Our cooperation today touches every conceivable domain. Ultimately, it is the people of both countries that drive the India-U.S. partnership. Your success is our success. The success of the India-U.S. partnership will not only be in the interest of India and the U.S., but also the global good,” he added.
On the occasion of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s 132nd birth anniversary, Sandhu also paid eloquent tribute to the Indian Constitution’s creator. He emphasised that Dr. Ambedkar attended Columbia University in the United States, which had a significant impact on the direction of his ideas and vision.
Sandhu stated that 75 years ago, when independent India was born, “we were a nation, fighting for our own survival. We had to depend on others, even for our basic needs, such as food. Neither history nor geography gave us comfort.”
He added that today, India is the fifth largest economy globally; the world’s second-largest agricultural producer; home to the third-largest tech ecosystem in the world, creating a unicorn almost every week; running the world’s largest renewable energy expansion program; the largest financial inclusion program; the largest producer of generic drugs globally, and the world’s largest producer of movies.
The event was attended by prominent Indian-Americans including Dr. Rahul Gupta, the White House’s drug czar, Gina Raimondo, Kurt Campbell, the Indo-Pacific Coordinator for the U.S. National Security Council, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
