Price of Diesel Increases by 51 Paise in Assam

Guwahati: The citizens of Assam awoke to higher diesel prices because the price of fuel increased by 51 paise at midnight on Wednesday.

The price of fuel which was previously set at Rs. 88.56 has increased to Rs. 89.07, causing citizens to wonder if the prices of other necessities will also go up.

On Wednesday morning, a number of locals who frequently travel vast distances voiced their opposition to the walk.

One of them while speaking to reporters said, “In a month, I visit my home that is 120km away from Guwahati. Older the vehicle means less mileage, and if prices of fuel is hiked on a regular basis it will be impossible for the common people to travel long distances.”

“We are helpless. There’s nothing we can do. We will have to continue to work and run our family,” another said.

It should be noted that prices for commercial liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders increased by Rs 25 nationwide in January of this year.

With immediate effect, Oil Marketing Companies increased the cost of LPG cylinders by Rs 25. However, domestic LPG prices remained unchanged.

With this, a 19 kg commercial cylinder is now available for Rs 1,769.
