Legendary Filmmaker Yash Chopra’s Wife, Pamela Chopra Passes Away
Guwahati: Legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra’s wife and playback singer Pamela Chopra passed away on Thursday morning. She was 74 years old.
Pamela reportedly spent the previous 15 days in Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital and was just put on a ventilator. She began steadily losing health, and this morning she passed away.
Pamela contributed to the soundtracks of several of her husband’s films along with being Yash Chopra’s better half. Her two kids Aditya and Uday Chopra are still alive.
Moreover, she contributed as a writer, costume designer, and co-producer to numerous Yash Raj Film (YRF) films.
YRF shared the news on Twitter that read, “With heavy hearts, the Chopra family would like to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her cremation took place at 11 am today in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and the family would like to request for privacy in this moment of deep sadness and reflection.”
Notably, Pamela recently made an appearance in the YRF documentary The Romantics where she discussed her husband’s struggle. Pamela and Yash Chopra were married in 1970.
Pamela has provided her voice for a number of films, from Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (2002) to Kabhie Kabhie (1976). She independently produced the 1993 movie Aaina as well. Along with her husband Yash Chopra and her son Aditya Chopra, Pamela also contributed to the script of her husband’s 1997 film Dil To Pagal Hai.
