Zubair Anam Elected As Assam Youth Congress’s New President
Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Youth Congress has elected Zubair Anam Mazumdar as its new president.
Zubair won the youth congress elections with more over 62,000 votes, followed by Paritosh Roy with 54,113 votes and David Phukan with 18,696 votes.
Zubair previously served as the State General Secretary of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress.
Born in Silchar, Zubair was raised in Guwahati and studied Don Bosco School until he graduated. Zubair studied Guwahati College of Architecture for his Bachelor’s in Architecture after finishing his Intermediate at R.J. College.
Zubain Anam is a renowned youth leader who speaks out frequently about political issues. From being a National Students Union of India (NSUI) member, he rose swiftly through the ranks to become General Secretary, Vice President, State General Secretary, and presently President of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress.
He was also a key figure in the 2019–20 Citizenship Amendment Act protests.
