Guwahati: Entry for visitors to the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra in Jalukbari of Guwahati has been restricted following an accident last night that claimed one life.
The memorial location was reportedly blocked to visitors on Thursday after a young person died in an accident on campus yesterday.
The young man, so far as is known, was electrocuted when he came into contact with the water of the fountain that was built inside the Samadhi Kshetra.
The young man and his family had travelled to the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra yesterday when the incident occurred.
The deceased was identified as Shubham Rai, a resident of BBC colony in the Pandu area of Guwahati.
He allegedly put his hands in the fountain’s water before being electrocuted to death.
He was taken to Swagat Hospital in the Maligaon area from the adjacent Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital immediately after the incident.
However, doctors could not save him as he succumbed to injuries.
