Karnataka Sessions Court rejects IYC chief Srinivas BV’s request for bail in Angkita Dutta harassment case

Guwahati: The Karnataka Sessions Court on April 28 denied Srinivas BV’s bail application in response to Angkita Dutta’s complaint of alleged harassment.

The bail petition filed by petitioner U/sec. 438 of CrP.C is hereby dismissed”, the notice from Karnataka Sessions Court read.

Indian Youth Congress chief Srinivas BV on April 25 appealed to Gauhati High Court to dismiss the complaint filed by expelled Assam Congress Youth leader Angkita Dutta.

Srinivas was served with a notice by the Guwahati Police summoning him to appear on May 2 before the May 10 Karnataka Assembly Election in order to address the harassment case brought by former Assam Pradesh Youth Congress leader Angkita Dutta at the police headquarters.

It is important to note that the Youth Congress national president was issued a notice by Moitrayee Deka, assistant deputy commissioner of police (East Guwahati), on April 23 asking him to stop from any wrongdoing and not tamper with the case’s evidence.

Furthermore, he was instructed not to make any promises, threats, or inducements to anyone who was aware of the specifics of the case in the notice.
