Assam: Teer Agent Injured in Police Firing in Dhubri

Guwahati: An operation against teer business, a form of gambling, on Thursday resulted in a shooting incident that injured one teer agent.

The agents had been operating the teer business in the area for a number of days when the Dhubri Police conducted an operation at Biratnagar Chariali in Golakganj.

When the agents tried to attack the police during the operation to flee the scene, the police had to respond by firing, which resulted in one of the agents being shot.

The teer agent has been identified as Shyamal Debnath who is currently undergoing treatment at Dhubri Medical College and Hospital.
