Guwahati: The Assam tour planned for Union Home Minister Amit Shah to mark the alliance government led by Himanta Biswa Sarma’s second term in power on May 11 has been postponed to May 26 due to the political and social climate in Manipur at the moment.
Following this, newly recruited candidates would now receive their employment letters on May 26 rather than May 11.
This was informed by the chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference here in Guwahati
However, there have been no modifications made to the candidates’ joining dates, which are June 1, 2023.
Addressing the media, CM Sarma said, “The dates of the distribution of the appointment letter have been postponed to May 26 instead of May 11. The candidates will be joining their respective offices from June 1, 2023.”
The chief minister also informed that the National Forensic Science University will be inaugurated in Guwahati on May 26 by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Moreover, the Assam government intends to allocate 150 bigha of land near the AIIMS Guwahati for the development of the aforementioned University.
The chief minister added that the establishment of the National Forensic Science University in Guwahati, which will follow Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, is a big step for Assam.
