2 Injured In Clashes Along Assam-Meghalaya Border

Guwahati: A tense situation created at the Assam-Meghalaya border after group of persons belonging to the Khasi minority allegedly crossed the interstate border and damaged a tea garden.

The incident was reported from Hamren, a hillside town situated in West Karbi Anglong district on the Assam side.

Reports added that the miscreants allegedly barged into the property and destroyed the tea plantation. The miscreants also set fire to an outpost inside the compound.

Upon obtaining information, locals raced to the location and sought to stop them from committing more damage. However, the miscreants attacked them and two of the villagers got injuries.

Following the incident, both the injured were rushed to a hospital in Hojai for medical treatment.
