Assam: Bengal Tiger Found Dead at KNP

Guwahati: The body of an adult Bengal tiger was recovered on Friday at Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve in Assam.

According to reports, the tiger’s carcass was recovered floating in the Mora Diphlu River at Kohora Range.

The animal is thought to have died from wounds sustained during a struggle with another tiger. Forestry personnel discovered the carcass and then called the local police and a veterinary team.

According to authorities, the cat’s body showed numerous signs of injuries, indicating that it was killed after a fight with another tiger.

A Royal Bengal tigers carcass was discovered in Assam’s Orang National Park earlier this year.

The carcass was recovered inside the national park, close to the Bhabapur camp.

Pradipta Baruah, DFO, Mangaldoi Wildlife Division, claims that the Royal Bengal tiger passed away a few days ago as a result of problems associated with ageing.

The higher authorities were quickly alerted by the forest workers.

“Immediately we along with the veterinary team rushed to the spot for post-mortem. We suspect that the tiger died due to old-age-related issues. It’s a natural death,” the DFO added.

The carcass was disposed of as per the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) guidelines, he added.
