3-Member CID Team Visits Kaliabor Incident Site After Death of Junmoni Rabha

Guwahati: A three-member team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrived in Kaliabor to look into the odd circumstances surrounding the death of sub-inspector Junmoni Rabha in a car accident.

According to reports, the CID team visited the scene of the crash on Wednesday morning.

Officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) and Nagaon police were present with the CID team.

Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh tweeted that the investigation had been given to the CID of the Assam Police after the mysterious road accident involving Kaliabor Sub-Inspector Junmoni Rabha.

Notably, the death investigation of Assam police Sub-Inspector (SI) Junmoni Rabha has taken a number of dramatic turns.

The latest whistle comes from Junmoni’s mother where she has accused the top brass of the Nagaon police of “murdering” her daughter as the latter ferreted out their plans of a possible criminal conspiracy.

“The SP and DSP….all are involved in something big and Junmoni might have come to know about their malicious intentions, that is why they killed her!,” Junmoni’s weeping mother said.

She further asserted that a team of police officers led by the Nagaon SP had entered her home on the fateful night and taken Rs 80,000 as well as a small quantity of jewellery. She claimed that during the raid, a police officer allegedly took her phone, turned it off, and then deleted a lot of contacts and phone numbers.

According to Junmoni’s mother, the police had also threatened her to be quiet in front of the media.

The Lakhimpur Police Station received a complaint accusing her of being involved in an extortion case, which led to the raid.

She stated that the police team had visited her house late at night, perhaps following the sad auto accident that had taken Junmoni’s life.

Furthermore, Junmoni’s mother asserted that the deceased cop’s post-mortem was performed without her permission. This raises questions because, according to Junmoni’s mother, her body bore various signs of having been struck with sticks or rods before to her tragic demise.
