Guwahati: One fugitive member of the Popular Front of India (PFI) was arrested in Nagarbera under Kamrup district of Assam on Tuesday night as part of the ongoing operation against the group in response to the federal government’s ban.
The arrested PFI member has been identified as Abdul Rezzak Ali.
Based on specific input, a raid was carried out by Officer-in-Charge of Nagarbera Police Station, Mirel Ahmed.
During the raid, Abdul Rezzak Ali was arrested from Nagarbera.
It has been established that the member had apparently been on the run since the facility banned the organisation. Abdul was detained by the police after a period of time.
Abdul was sent to judicial custody today after being arrested.
