Class IX Student in Assam Narrowly Avoids Being Kidnapped
Guwahati: A school student narrowly escaped kidnappers’ hands on Wednesday at Barpathar in the Golaghat district of Assam.
The minor student was reportedly repairing his bicycle on the road when an Alto came up next to him and dragged him inside before swerving off.
Fortunately, the child was able to bust through the window and jump out after a brief fight. The kidnappers then flee the spot rather than attempting to grab hold of him again, sources said.
The victim boy, identified as Rubul Dutta, is a student of standard IX at Baromukhia High School and hails from Jorhatiya Gaon.
Locals were outraged by the tragedy and asked that those responsible be brought to justice. The incident has been reported to the local police.
