Guwahati: A renowned Nepali Sherpa broke his own record by climbing Mount Everest a record-breaking 27 times, making him the person to have scaled the mountain the most times.
According to reports, Kami Rita Sherpa, 53, led a foreign climber up the 8,849-meter (29,032-foot) summit early in the morning using the well-worn southeast ridge route.
It should be noted that Rita first climbed Mount Everest on May 13, 1994. Rita has conquered numerous mountains, including Mount Everest, Mount Godwin-Austen (K2), Mount Lhotse, Mount Manaslu, and Mount Cho Oyu. Furthermore, he holds the record for the most ascents of 8000 metres.
The Seven Summit Treks senior mountain guide Kami Rita made it to the top as part of an expedition led by the company with headquarters in Kathmandu.
Meanwhile, reports claim that an Indian national topped Mount Dhaulagiri, the seventh-highest mountain in the world, on Wednesday.
