Border Tension Between Assam & Arunachal Over Suspected Youth Death
Guwahati: Tensions on the border between the two states rose after a youth hailing from Assam was found dead on Thursday under strange circumstances at a brewery in the Namsai area of Arunachal Pradesh.
Several local organisations from Kakopathar-Dirak blocked the road at Tinsukia’s Dirak Gate at the border between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh in order to demand an investigation into the young man’s strange death.
Arunachal Police are suspected of mistreating a number of female demonstrators close to the border, which has sparked a tense situation there.
In a previous report, it was learnt that the deceased youth, identified as Ankur Moran, was found dead at a beer factory where he was employed at.
According to reports, the B block of the facility is where the body of Ankur was found.
Later, local police arrived on the scene and recovered the body for post-mortem.
According to several accounts, it is unclear if the incident involved suicide or murder.
Meanwhile, the deceased youth’s family has urged that the incident be thoroughly investigated.
