Guwahati: The sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption made another arrest in Guwahati on Thursday under suspicion of graft just a few hours after the day’s first arrest.
Another government employee has been arrested by the sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.
The government employee has been identified as Minakshi Kakati Kalita who works at the Kar Bhawan in Guwahati as an Assistant Commissioner of State Tax.
The sleuths caught her red-handed in her office at Kar Bhawan after Minakshi accepted the complainant’s demand for a bribe in exchange for reactivating the GST online features.
Taking to Twitter, the official handle of anti-corruption cell informed, “2nd trap of the day. @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Minakshi Kakati Kalita, Asst. Commissioner of State Tax in her office in KAR BHAWAN after she accepted demanded bribe from the complainant for reactivating GST online functions.”
