Guwahati: In a tragic incident, a car’s driver lost his life after ploughing it into the Jagduar River in Teok of Assam, reports emerged on Thursday.
According to initial reports, the incident took place because there weren’t any warning signs while the four-lane project’s expansion work was in progress. The motorist went straight while on national route 37 and fell into the river since there were no warning signs in place.
The deceased identified as Bhaskar Jyoti Barman was a resident of Bamunimaidam in Guwahati. He was an employee of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
He was reportedly driving his Toyota Etios with the registration number AS 06 P 9587 to Jorhat when the incident occurred last night. He drove into the Jagduar River near Teok in the Jorhat district without seeing any caution signs.
The body was found inside the car by locals, and visuals of it have surfaced. The fatality was probably caused by drowning. However, more information will surface after proper research.
