Guwahati: The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exam results for the year 2023 have been announced by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) on Monday. At least to 72.69 percent of all candidates who took the exam succeeded.
It should be mentioned, the passing rate this year was among the highest since 1992. According to SEBA, the pass percentage for the 2023 results was the second-highest since 1992. Overall, 93.10 percent of students passed the exam in 2021. Although it is physically impossible to sit for exams and students are promoted based on prior achievements, that can be attributed to a pandemic-hit academic.
In contrast, the overall pass rate in 2011 was recorded at 70.38 percent, while in 2013 it was recorded at 70.71 percent. Since 1992, these pass rates set a new record high.
On the other hand, the lowest pass rate ever was 29.00% in 1992, which was also the year with the lowest pass rate ever.

It should be noted that today’s results for the HSLC were announced, and a total of 4,15,324 students took the board exams. From the total, 94,913 students received first place, 1,48,573 students received second place, and 58,394 students received third place.
While 8,517 students achieved distinction marks in the exams, 18,653 students received stars.
