Guwahati: A total pass percentage of 72.69 percent has been achieved in the state according to the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) results announced by the SEBA (Board of Secondary Education).
A total of 4,15,324 lakh candidates took the board exam. Among the total, 94,913 students received first division, 1,48,573 students received second division, and 58,394 students received third division.
8,517 students earned distinction marks in the exams, while 18,653 students received stars.
The following is the merit list of first three ranks:
1st Position- 596 Marks
- Hridam Thakuria- Sankardev Shishu Niketan, Dhekiajuli
2nd Position- 593 Marks
- Ishrat Fariha- Nagaon Govt. Boy’s H S School
- Lucky Devi Choudhury- Ananda Vidya Niketan, Nalbari
- Manmita Sarma- Ananda Vidya Niketan, Nalbari
- Aditya Anupom Konwar- St. Joseph’s School, Sonari
3rd Position- 592 Marks
Nilufer Rahman- Dumunichowki English School
Anindita Borah- Adarsha Vidyapeeth, Bholaguri
Mriganka Bhattacharyya- Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Baharghat
The HSLC exams, equivalent to CBSE 10th standard board exams, are conducted every year in Assam by the SEBA. The HSLC exams this year were held amid several controversies after paper leak incidents were reported across various exam centers of the state.
The HSLC exams began on March 3 and were slated to end on March 20. However, due to the rescheduling of the exams after paper leak incidents, the examination was extended to April 1.
