Fake Gold Mafia Ajgar Ali Surrenders In Assam’s Lakhimpur
Guwahati: Ajgar Ali, a notorious member of the fake gold mafia, turned himself in to the police on Wednesday in response to charges of a widespread syndicate selling fake gold and currency notes in Assam following the killing of Morikolong sub-inspector (SI) Junmoni Rabha.
Since the passing of Junmoni Rabha, Ajgar Ali’s name has been mentioned multiple times. Ajgar Ali has now turned himself in to the authorities after the Assam authorities declared a significant crackdown on fake gold and fake currency syndicates.
Initial reports state that Ajgar Ali turned himself in today at the Lakhimpur Sadar Police Station. This occurs after up to six fake gold mafias turned themselves in to the police yesterday.
Meanwhile, it has come to the fore that that Ajgar Ali gave up after a video of him being caught with fake gold was posted and went viral.
Speaking to reporters Ajgar Ali said, “I was not involved in any wrongdoing. I was forced into it by Abu Shahid Katiar. Later on, a video of me was filmed and got leaked. I do not want that misinformation in my name be spread so I have come to clarify before the police and understand if there are cases registered against me and how I can cooperate with the police in their investigation.”
Before she tragically passed away, Junmoni Rabha reportedly held Ajgar Ali after receiving information about her investigation into the syndicate. Following that, Ajgar Ali’s mother filed a complaint against Junmoni Rabha.
At least to six mafias connected to the phoney gold scam turned themselves in to police earlier on Tuesday at the Bongalmora Police Outpost.
According to information received, Abu Sahid alias Lambu Sahid, Jakir Hussain, Mijanur Rahman alias Miju, Shahabuddin, Saidul Islam alias Saidullah and Abdul Razzak surrendered before the police.
The minority section of the BJP in Lakhimpur’s Lambu Sahid was his employer, it has also emerged since his surrender.
After the Assam Police initiated a big crackdown on the widespread fake gold and fake currency note syndicates in the state, fake gold mafias in Lakhimpur, Assam, are now turning themselves in to the police one after another.
In response to GP Singh’s threat to take tough action against these syndicates, 71 people have been arrested in the past 24 hours. Locals made additional claims about the involvement of police officers in the connection. Meanwhile, Assam Police reorganised and appointed Anand Mishra as superintendent of police (SP) of Lakhimpur.
