Guwahati: A list of 24 MLAs who will take the oath of office as ministers in the newly formed government of chief minister Siddaramaiah has been released by the Congress party. The ceremony to take the oath is scheduled for today (Saturday).
The list of ministers to take oath includes HK Patil, Krishna Byregowda, N Cheluvarayaswamy, K Venkatesh, HC Mahadevappa, Eshwar Khandre, Kyathasandra N Rajanna, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Sharanabasappa Darshanapur, Shivanand Patil, Timmapur Ramappa Balappa, SS Mallikarjun, Tangadagi Shivaraj Sangappa, Sharanaprakash Rudrappa Patil, Mankal Vaidya, Laxmi R Hebbalkar, Rahim Khan, D Sudhakar, Santosh S Lad, NS Boseraju, Suresha BS, Madhu Bangarappa, MC Sudhakar, B Nagendra.
CM Siddaramaiah met Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, and Sonia Gandhi, the head of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), on Friday in Delhi.
On May 24, CM Siddaramaiah travelled in Delhi earlier to speak with party leadership over expanding the Cabinet.
Following the Congress party’s resounding victory in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, the state’s chief minister, was elected unanimously as the CLP leader on May 18 after days of discussion.
Siddaramaiah took oath as the Chief Minister on May 20, along with DK Shivakumar who took oath as his deputy and the other eight ministers.
The grand old party won 135 seats in the 224-member Karnataka Assembly elections upsetting the governing BJP.
