Delhi HC Rejects Manish Sisodia’s Bail Plea in Liquor Policy Case

Guwahati: In the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case of alleged corruption in the implementation of excise policy 2021–2022, Manish Sisodia, a former deputy chief minister of Delhi and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), requested bail, however the Delhi High Court denied his request.
Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma issued the judgement on Tuesday and reserved judgement for May 11.

The excise policy was created at the request of South Group with the mala fide intention of giving them an unfair advantage, according to Justice Sharma, who characterised the accusations as being of a very serious kind. He added that such behaviour suggests the applicant, who was undeniably a public worker and held a very high position, engaged in misconduct.
According to sources, the CBI opposed Manish Sisodia’s request for bail, saying the applicant has a clear connection to the executive branch, administrative offices, and bureaucrats, and his power and clout are obvious. High-ranking members of his party still assert false facts to try to sway the investigation and portray the applicant as the victim of a political vendetta.

In connection with cases filed by the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED), Manish Sisodia is now being held in judicial custody. On March 31 by the special judge, he had previously been denied bail; on April 28 by a trial court.
