Ranoj Pegu: Investigation Ordered Into AEC Incident to Cover All Engg Colleges

Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu visited Assam Engineering College (AEC) on Wednesday and held a significant discussion with the college administration three days after the unfortunate occurrence.
Pegu said that the state administration has previously requested an investigation into the incident involving the catastrophic road accident that claimed the lives of seven AEC students.

He further stated that all engineering colleges in the state would be included in the investigation. He further ordered the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam (DTE) to deliver a preliminary report today and a final report within 15 days.
Taking to Twitter, Ranoj Pegu said, “Visited Assam Engg College and discussed with the Principal and Hostel Wardens about the tragic accident where 7 students of AEC lost their lives. Govt has already instituted an enquiry. The scope of the enquiry will cover all the other Engineering Colleges of the state, too. The DTE will submit a preliminary report today and final report within 15 days.”
The police administration is permitted to pick up any boarder of Hostels located outside the campus after the allotted time and without authorization for legitimate causes, according to a new set of guidelines that the AEC authorities previously established for the hostel boarders.
