Following the recent water pipe line burst in the Guwahati neighbourhoods of Kharguli and Maligaon, another incident of this nature was reported on Monday in North Guwahati.
According to reports, in North Guwahati, a JICA water supply pipe burst, flooding the Silsako neighbourhood. After the water burst occurred, the entire area was submerged. Due to the disaster, a sizable property was also destroyed because several of the homes were submerged.
Locals had to utilise water pumps to drain the extra water from their homes in the meanwhile.
The Maligaon flyover in Guwahati city was under construction when a large water pipeline ruptured last month, causing massive water spillage and traffic congestion. The issue was discovered as the state government’s responsible department was working on the flyover’s ongoing development. However, it wasn’t known what caused the pipeline to rupture until this report was filed.
A Gammon JICA water supply main line pipe recently ruptured in the Kharguli neighbourhood of Guwahati, washing away multiple vehicles and damaging the neighbouring homes, leaving several families without a place to live.
After the water supply pipeline rupture incident in Kharguli, which also took the life of a woman and injured other people nearby, the situation is still dangerous. Sumitra Rabha was the only person murdered in the tragedy. She lived in one of the homes that the water surged and ruined.
