The Assam Administrative Staff College on Thursday hosted a conclave on the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020 in Guwahati’s Khanapara.
Governor Gulab Chand Kataria honoured the celebration with his illustrious presence and passionate participation.
In his enthralling speech, CM Sarma emphasised the government’s crucial contribution to the NEP’s successful implementation.
The Chief Minister expressed his happiness at the noteworthy advancements made in the state’s implementation of the NEP.
CM Sarma said, “We have witnessed significant advancements and notable strides in the education sector. I want to credit the emphasis placed on education following Governor Kataria’s assumption of office.”
CM Sarma emphasised the significance of universities in attaining the objectives set forth in the NEP. He also acknowledged the value of colleges in the field of education.
Assam must seek to be listed among the top 100 leading universities in the nation, the Chief Minister added, setting an ambitious goal for the state. He emphasised that Assam had improved significantly on its prior accomplishments in the area of education.
Expressing his visionary aspirations, CM Sarma said, “I envision Assam not merely as an educational hub for the North East but as a distinguished center for education encompassing Eastern India and the entire nation of Bharat. To achieve this, it is imperative that at least 50% of our universities secure a position in the top 100 rankings.”
The central university in Assam must compete with esteemed schools outside the state, CM Sarma further recognised. The government’s commitment to encouraging excellence and making sure Assam’s educational institutions are on par with the best in the country was highlighted by this statement. The conference offered a venue for in-depth debate and calculated planning to improve the NEP’s implementation in Assam. After the event, there was a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to improving the state’s educational system.
