Assam: 3 Tinsukia DC Office Employees Held For Promising Jobs For Cash
Guwahati: At least three employees of the Tinsukia district commissioner’s office were reportedly detained, several reports emerged on Thursday night.
According to early accounts, the arrests took place in the midst of a campaign against middlemen who pretended to be selling jobs while actually robbing helpless victims.
According to officials, the people detained were Deepak Thapa, Pradeep Tantiya, and Anil Moran. They were taken into custody following a Hamren Police operation.
The trio is accused of having taken money from a number of people in exchange for promises of peon and security guard jobs, according to information gathered.
Hamren Police took action last night to apprehend the accused as a result of several complaints made against them.
Detectives from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption detained two Lat Mandals in Assam earlier on Wednesday for their involvement in bribery.
Jalaluddin Sheikh of Bhuragaon Revenue Circle in Morigaon and Diganta Baruah of Nazira Revenue Circle in Sivasagar have been named as the two Lat Mandals who have been detained.
While Diganta Baruah was caught red-handed accepting payment for generating trace maps and land holding number certificates, Sheikh was detained at his home after accepting Rs 20,000 as bribe money from the complainant.
