Karan Johar will receive honours at British Parliament in London

Guwahati: Indian filmmaker Karan Johar will get recognition at the British Parliament in London for his services to the international entertainment business.

According to a statement released by the team, Karan Johar will be celebrated at the event the following week in front of Lords and MPs.

The House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two houses of the British Parliament, are both located at the Palace of Westminster, where the event will be held.

Many of Karan Johar’s films, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, were filmed in the United Kingdom.

He received the title of Visit Britain Goodwill Ambassador in 2012 in recognition of his unique campaign to entice and invited people to travel to and discover the nation.

His hits Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and My Name Is Khan shattered box office records upon their theatrical debuts and went on to become the biggest grossing Indian films in the UK. One of India’s top production companies, Dharma Productions, is managed by Karan Johar.

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which comes out on July 28, marks Karan Johar’s comeback to directing after a seven-year absence. Karan Johar made his directorial debut with the 1998 movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

The family drama will feature Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan in the lead roles. This year also marks Karan Johar’s 25th year in the global entertainment industry.
