The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Sikkim Football Association (SFA) celebrated the successful culmination of the AIFF D-Certificate Football Learning Course, attended by 24 student-coaches from Sikkim and neighboring regions.
Commencing on April 5th, the course aimed to equip budding coaches with essential skills and knowledge to positively impact the football community.
The closing ceremony, held on Tuesday, April 9, saw the presence of distinguished guests, including Yogeeta Rai, Secretary of the Sports Department, and Sudip Pradhan, Independent Director of Numaligarh Refineries Limited.
Rai commended the candidates for their dedication throughout the course and pledged ongoing support from the department in their future endeavors.
The welcome address was delivered by Phurba Sherpa, General Secretary of the SFA.
In his closing speech, Menla Ethenpa, President of the SFA, highlighted the significance of such training initiatives in enhancing football coaching and development in the region. He reaffirmed the SFA’s commitment to collaborating with the AIFF to provide more opportunities for aspiring coaches.
Led by Kuntala Ghosh Dastidar, with Lekden Basi serving as the Course Coordinator, the AIFF D-Certificate Football Learning Course received an enthusiastic response from participants.
Due to high demand, the second batch of the course is scheduled to commence on April 11, offering another group of aspiring coaches the chance to enhance their skills and contribute to the football landscape.
