NIA Makes Significant Arrests in Rameswaram Cafe Blast and PLFI Revival Case

In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made notable arrests in two separate cases, highlighting the agency’s continued efforts in maintaining national security.

1.  Rameswaram Cafe Blast Arrests:
•   The NIA apprehended two suspects linked to the Rameswaram Cafe blast in Bengaluru.
•   The arrests were made near Kolkata, West Bengal.
•   The individuals arrested are Mussavir Hussain Shazib, accused of placing the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the cafe, and Abdul Matheen Taha, alleged to be the mastermind behind the planning and execution of the blast.
•   The NIA, supported by coordinated action and cooperation between Central Intelligence agencies and State Police agencies of West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala police, traced the absconding accused near Kolkata, where they were hiding under false identities.
2.  PLFI Revival Case Arrest:
•   In a separate operation, the NIA apprehended an individual in connection with alleged revival efforts by the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI).
•   Extensive raids were conducted across two states, with collaboration from local police forces.
•   Operations were carried out in two locations each in Jharkhand and Assam.

These arrests underscore the NIA’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring national security, with coordinated efforts across various states and agencies.
