Acting on various inputs, a team from Nagaon Police, led by DSP(P) Sandipon Garg and SI Biku Barman from Kathiatoli Outpost, recovered the soapboxes containing 34 grams of heroin.

Three individuals were apprehended during the raid, and further legal procedures have been initiated against them to investigate any possible linkages.

In a separate incident, Karimganj police conducted a successful raid leading to the seizure of prohibited drugs valued at approximately Rs 20 crore. The operation, spearheaded by Karimganj Superintendent of Police Parth Pratim Das, targeted a clandestine stash of one lakh yaba tablets concealed within the hidden compartment of a KIA SELTOS vehicle with registration number AS/01/FK/2939.

The vehicle was discovered in the Sri Krishna Nagar area under the jurisdiction of the Auctionbazar police station. Subsequent investigations revealed that the two apprehended individuals, Abul Hasan from Patharkandi Erligul and Shaharul Islam from Badarpur Lamajur, were involved in the illicit drug trade. Abul Hasan, residing in Dimapur, is believed to be a key figure in the drug trafficking network operating in Margherita, with the illicit tablets sourced from Cachar.
