Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Declares Indefinite Shutter Down of Business Establishments

In response to continued harassment faced by the business community at the hands of Naga political groups (NPGs), the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has announced plans for an indefinite shutter down of all business establishments in Dimapur starting from April 26.

The decision to enforce the shutter down until the grievances of the business community are addressed stems from issues such as multiple taxations, intimidations, and summon letters by NPGs, according to the DCCI.

The Chamber has urged the state government and law enforcement agencies to take immediate measures to safeguard the interests of the business community and ensure their protection.

While acknowledging the inconvenience that the proposed shutter down may cause to the public, the DCCI has appealed for cooperation, emphasizing that the action is essential for the welfare of all citizens.

Additionally, the DCCI has cautioned the business community against entertaining any calls or summons from various NPGs without prior knowledge and approval from the Chamber.

Emphasizing that their stance is against multiple taxations and extortion rather than any specific group or faction, the Chamber has reiterated its commitment to protecting the interests of businesses in Dimapur.
