Assam Police made an arrest on April 24 in Goalpara Krishnai after discovering a man in possession of a handmade rifle, seized from the Assam-Meghalaya border area. The arrested individual, identified as Mamu Rabha, had stored the illegal firearm at his residence for an extended period without valid documents.
During a police operation targeting Bamunepanikhowa village on the Assam-Meghalaya border within Krishnai, authorities apprehended Mamu Rabha (32) and seized the handmade rifle from his home. Despite claims that the firearm was used to deter wild elephants, Rabha was detained for possessing the illegal firearm without proper documentation.
