Several polling booths in Assam experienced delays in voting due to Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) malfunctions reported across various locations.
Initial reports of EVM malfunctions were followed by additional instances in Moirabari, Mangaldoi, Diphu, and Dhing.
In Moirabari’s Pub Ulubari Primary School, polling booth No. 293 encountered an EVM fault, causing delays in voting. Similarly, in Dhing’s Khoiramari, polling booth No. 122 experienced EVM malfunctions, leading to voting delays.
In Diphu’s polling booth No. 110, voting was temporarily halted due to an EVM breakdown, but resumed after the machine was repaired.
At Mangaldoi’s Bamunpara Primary School, a fault in the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machine caused a 25-minute delay in the start of voting.
