In a rally held in Baksa district, Hagrama Mohilary, the president of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), made bold assertions about the precarious state of the relationship between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL). Mohilary foresees the alliance’s demise shortly after the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Pointing to a widening chasm between the BJP and UPPL, Mohilary divulged insider insights, citing the BPF’s victory over the national party in Darrang Udalguri during the Lok Sabha polls. He highlighted a significant shift in voter allegiance towards the BPF, particularly emphasizing the support garnered from the electorate within the inner circles of the UPPL.
“With no formidable opponent in Kokrajhar, where BJP refrained from fielding candidates, and the Congress presenting a lackluster candidate, the path is clear for BPF’s triumph,” asserted Mohilary.
Mohilary lambasted the BJP’s efforts in Kokrajhar, dismissing their campaigning as inconsequential theatrics. He reiterated the BPF’s broad-based appeal, noting support from constituents of diverse ethnic backgrounds, ensuring widespread backing in the upcoming electoral fray.
Predicting the imminent dissolution of the BJP-UPPL alliance, Mohilary cited the BJP’s purported disillusionment with the UPPL’s electoral prospects. Allegations of misappropriation of government resources and a lack of substantive achievements were leveled against the UPPL, further undermining their credibility in the political arena.
“Confirmed news indicates that BJP will sever ties with UPPL, withdrawing support due to their inability to secure electoral victories and their alleged malfeasance,” affirmed Mohilary.
