Assam Rifles Thwarts Alleged ULFA-I Recruitment Bid, Nabs Youth; Three Alleged Linkmen Arrested

In a recent operation, Assam Rifles personnel intercepted and detained Munindra Das Narayan, a resident of Udoipur Merapani village in Golaghat district, Assam. The apprehension occurred on May 3 in Mon district, Nagaland, following actionable intelligence received by Assam Rifles.

Narayan was allegedly en route to join the banned insurgent outfit United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-I). Upon capture, he was transferred to the custody of Charaideo district police, Assam, for further legal proceedings.

In a parallel operation, authorities apprehended three individuals suspected of aiding ULFA(I) activities in Sonari. The detainees, identified as Sanjay Dey, Sujit Dey, and Tazawang Konyak, are accused of providing financial support to ULFA (SA). Among them, Sanjay Dey and Sujit Dey are reportedly father and son, respectively.

These arrests underscore the persistent efforts of security forces to counter militant recruitment and activity, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding peace and stability in the region.
