“Heavy rain and hailstorms have wreaked havoc in several parts of Manipur, causing damage to properties and vehicles,” stated the Chief Minister. Areas such as Canchipur and Tera in Imphal West bore the brunt of the adverse weather, with reports of damaged houses and displaced hutments due to strong winds.
While official assessments regarding the extent of damage and casualties are pending, the state government has solicited reports of hailstorm-related damages incurred on May 5. Citizens are encouraged to provide information and photographic evidence depicting the impact of the inclement weather conditions.
