Mountain Guide Kami Rita Sherpa Sets New Record with 29th Mount Everest Summit

Nepali mountain guide Kami Rita Sherpa has achieved an extraordinary milestone, becoming the first person to summit Mount Everest an unprecedented 29 times, surpassing his own previous record of 28 ascents to the world’s highest peak.

At 54 years old, the climbing legend from Thame village reached the summit of the 8,848.86-meter (29,032-foot) peak, etching his name in Himalayan mountaineering history once again.

Sherpa’s journey began in 1994 when he first conquered the daunting peak at the age of 24. Since then, he has dedicated nearly every climbing season to guiding foreign climbers to the summit of Mount Everest with exceptional skill and expertise.

In addition to his remarkable achievements on Everest, Sherpa has also successfully summited other formidable Himalayan peaks, including K2, Lhotse, Manaslu, and Cho Oyu.
