In a terrifying incident in Fatepur Majidala village under Kaliganj police station, Karimganj, a gang of dacoits targeted the home of Dilip Acharya, an elderly resident. The robbery unfolded late at night, catching Acharya alone and vulnerable. Four masked intruders barged into his residence, forcibly blindfolding him with clothes before ransacking the premises.
According to Acharya’s account, the assailants descended upon him around 2 am, swiftly immobilizing him and robbing him of gold ornaments weighing 2 tolas and a significant sum of Rs 1 lakh 25,000 in cash, securely stored in his Godrej Almirah. The ordeal took a violent turn as the dacoits struck Acharya on the head before making their getaway.
Promptly notified, law enforcement sprang into action, dispatching a sizable team to the scene to launch an intensive investigation. With the aid of police intelligence dogs, authorities scoured the area for any leads or potential suspects.
In a development indicative of progress in the case, the police apprehended Sarab Uddin, a local resident, for questioning in connection with the audacious robbery. The interrogation of Uddin marks a crucial step forward in unraveling the mystery surrounding the brazen attack on Dilip Acharya’s home.
