Shooting Near Nambul River Bank Claims One Life, Injures Two in Imphal West

Imphal West, Manipur – A 41-year-old man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting near the Nambul river bank at Naorem-thong Khumanthem Takyel Kongbal, within the Lamphel police station jurisdiction, around 7:30 p.m. last night.

The deceased, Shree Ram Hangsada, hailed from Jharkhand. The injured, Bittu Murmu, 22, and Mitalal Soran, 50, also from Jharkhand, are being treated at RIMS Hospital. Murmu is the son of Sirlal Murmu from Dokaban Village, and Soran is the son of Dorbori Soran from Mukun Village.

All three men were laborers working for Keystone Infra Pvt. Company. Security forces responded swiftly to the scene following the incident.

A case has been registered at Lamphel police station, and an investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend the shooter. The motive for the attack remains unknown, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
