Assam Rifles Thwarts Arms Smuggling Bid by Chin Resistance Force in Mizoram’s Siaha District

In a preemptive strike, Assam Rifles intercepted an operative of the Chin Resistance Force (CDF) attempting to transport a significant cache of ammunition and tactical equipment at Tuipang Village in Mizoram’s Siaha district.

Responding to precise intelligence regarding the movement of CDF militants carrying arms and war supplies, Assam Rifles swiftly launched an operation in the area. Led by Assam Rifles’ Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) stationed at the Tuipang road junction, the operation resulted in the apprehension of an individual riding a Kenbo motorcycle heavily laden with cargo.

Upon meticulous inspection, security personnel uncovered a cache consisting of 170 rounds of 12 Gauge Shotgun Cartridges, fourteen Baofeng Radio sets, tactical gear, and fourteen Radio Set Chargers concealed within the cargo.

Preliminary investigations disclosed that the detained individual was a member of the Chinland Defence Force (CDF) tasked with smuggling these supplies across the Indo-Myanmar border.

Subsequent to the apprehension, both the individual and the seized items, along with the Kenbo motorcycle, were transferred to the Tuipang Police Station for further legal proceedings.

This successful operation underscores Assam Rifles’ unwavering dedication to thwarting illicit activities and preserving peace and security in the region.
