A distressing situation unfolded in Chhoto Garjan village of Gosaigaon sub-division as five members of a family were hospitalized after consuming broiler meat.
The victims, identified as Krinju Brahma (55), Himangsu Narzary, Anjima Brahma, Tilak Brahma (2), and Mukhi Brahma, exhibited symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea shortly after consuming the meat purchased from the local market the previous day.
While four individuals are reported to be stable, the condition of Krinju Brahma remains critical. He is currently receiving urgent medical attention at the Gosaigaon RNB Hospital, where healthcare professionals are working tirelessly to stabilize him.
This incident has raised serious concerns regarding food safety standards and the quality of meat sold in local markets. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to identify the source of the contaminated meat and implement preventive measures to avert similar incidents in the future.
