Barpeta, Assam – Krishangi Kashyap, hailing from Barpeta, has brought honor to her hometown by clinching the prestigious IIT Topper award at the renowned Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore. With an exceptional score of 9.45 marks in her post-graduate examination in Astronomy, Astrophysics, and Space Engineering, Krishangi has distinguished herself as a standout achiever.
Krishangi’s academic journey is a testament to her unwavering dedication and exceptional intellect. Having excelled in physics at Bhattadeva University in Pathshala, she embarked on her post-graduate studies at IIT Indore in 2022, nurturing aspirations of becoming a space scientist.
In a remarkable feat, Krishangi was selected to represent India at the 55th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC 55) 2024, organized by NASA in Texas, USA. Her pioneering research, titled “Surface and Subsurface Regolith Characterization of Lunar South Pole using Chandrayaan-2 Dual-Frequency Synthetic Aperture Radar (DFSAR),” delves into the exploration of the moon’s south pole and the identification of water on its surface. Her proud father, Hitesh Sharma, shared news of her remarkable achievement with the media.
