Security Forces Apprehend Three KCP Apunba Cadres in Thoubal District, Manipur

In a significant operation, security forces successfully apprehended three active members of the banned group KCP Apunba (City Meitei) from Waithou in Manipur’s Thoubal District. The arrested individuals, identified as Louriyam Suresh Singh (28), Lairenlakpam Dineshchandra Singh (30), and Konsam Anao Singh (26), were found in possession of three pistols with magazines, sixteen rounds of ammunition, four mobile phones, and a four-wheeler vehicle.

The operation underscores the continued efforts of security forces to combat insurgent activities in Manipur. Furthermore, authorities have intensified search operations and area domination exercises across hill and valley districts to maintain law and order. These efforts aim to ensure the safe movement of essential goods along NH-2, with strict security measures implemented in vulnerable locations and security convoys deployed in sensitive areas.

To bolster security measures, 123 checkpoints have been established across various districts in Manipur, resulting in the detention of 81 individuals for violations. These proactive measures demonstrate the commitment of security forces to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
