Amidst shock and dismay, Haloating Tea Estate Primary School in Amguri, Assam, grapples with a distressing incident wherein students purportedly consumed rotten eggs as part of their government-provided meals, igniting widespread fury among parents, students, and the local populace.
The unsettling episode unfolded when teachers purportedly served yesterday’s meals, which included boiled eggs with intact but putrid interiors. Several students suffered from nausea and vomiting shortly after ingestion, with some discarding the contaminated eggs in drains and on the roadside.
Accusatory fingers are pointed at the headmaster, with the Assam Tea Tribes Students Association (ATTSA) and community members condemning what they perceive as negligence endangering students’ health. They demand immediate action against the headmaster for his alleged failure to uphold the safety and welfare of the students entrusted to his care.
During a school visit, concerned locals and ATTSA representatives interrogated students, many of whom corroborated receiving the rotten eggs during lunch. This confirmation intensifies the outrage and frustration among parents and community members, prompting calls for the headmaster’s swift suspension.
“The teacher’s actions in serving these rotten eggs are reprehensible and demonstrate a callous disregard for our children’s well-being,” voiced an anonymous local resident. “We vehemently denounce this incident and implore authorities to mete out stringent repercussions against those accountable.”
