In a decisive crackdown on drug trafficking, the West Guwahati Police Department (WGPD) has thwarted a significant narcotics supply chain by seizing a large consignment of Codeine Phosphate Syrup.
The operation, conducted by the Azara Police Station, targeted a godown located in Hatkhuwapara. Authorities confiscated 1,956 bottles of Codeine Phosphate Syrup, neatly packed in 19 cartons. The shipment, destined for distribution in Aizawl, Dimapur, and Agartala, was intercepted before reaching its intended markets.
Initial investigations have traced the origins of the illegal consignment to Delhi, highlighting the extensive interstate network involved in drug trafficking. The WGPD is actively pursuing leads to identify the key operatives orchestrating this illicit trade, aiming to bring them to justice swiftly.
This successful operation underscores the WGPD’s unwavering commitment to combatting drug trafficking and ensuring public health and safety in Guwahati and its surrounding areas.
