The serene village of Dudhnai in Assam is enveloped in grief and bewilderment following the tragic discovery of Tamach Basumatary’s lifeless body, found under enigmatic circumstances far from his intended destination.
Tamach, a young man from Bandarshree village, embarked on a journey to Bengaluru with three companions in search of employment. Departing by train last Tuesday, Tamach traveled separately from his friends in a different compartment. While his companions safely reached Bengaluru, Tamach never arrived, sparking immediate concern and confusion among his peers.
After frantic efforts to trace him, his body was discovered near Tenali railway station in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, early this morning. The discovery has devastated his family and the local community, who are now demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his untimely death.
The Basumatary family, already struggling with financial difficulties, faces the additional burden of repatriating Tamach’s body for final rites. In a poignant appeal, his family and the villagers of Dudhnai have requested assistance from the Goalpara administration and the state government to bring him home for a dignified farewell.
This tragic incident comes on the heels of another mysterious death in nearby Matia, amplifying the community’s grief and urgency for answers. The villagers of Dudhnai, alongside Tamach’s family, continue to seek clarity and justice, hoping for a swift and comprehensive investigation into this heartbreaking event.
