In a coordinated effort between Assam Rifles and the Customs Division, a significant cache of arms was seized in the Adamtilla area of Karimganj district, Assam, on June 19. The operation resulted in the discovery of a country-made 9mm pistol with a magazine, four live rounds of 9mm ammunition, four live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and a single-barrel rifle. The seized weapons were promptly handed over to the Customs Division, Karimganj, for further legal proceedings. An investigation into the origin and intended use of the arms is currently underway.
Simultaneously, on June 21, a successful operation conducted by the Assam Special Task Force (STF) and Kamrup police led to the apprehension of four dacoits near Singra, close to Boko Police Station. Acting on actionable intelligence regarding the group’s plan to rob an ATM while en route from Goalpara to Guwahati, the joint team, under the leadership of Additional SP Kalyan Kumar Pathak, swiftly executed the operation in the early hours of Friday morning.
These operations underscore the proactive measures undertaken by law enforcement agencies to curb illegal activities and ensure public safety across Assam.
