Taking a firm stand against the pervasive issue of drug abuse in Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has reaffirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to combat narcotics. Addressing the public, Singh emphasized the detrimental impact of drug abuse on society and highlighted the positive strides being made to mitigate its effects.
“Manipur has been significantly affected by drug abuse, but our persistent efforts are making a difference. We are witnessing a decline in illicit drug use, and we are determined to continue this momentum,” Singh stated, urging the youth to stay away from harmful substances that pose a threat to their future and well-being.
To bolster awareness and drive home the message of drug-free living, Chief Minister Singh inaugurated a motorbike rally organized by the Manipur Police under the guidance of the Director General of Police (DGP). The rally coincided with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, marking a symbolic gesture in the fight against drug-related challenges.
The rally served as a crucial platform to educate the public, particularly the younger generation, about the grave consequences of drug addiction. Participants, including police personnel and community members, enthusiastically joined the rally, demonstrating solidarity in the campaign against narcotics.
“This motorbike rally is not just a symbolic event but a powerful statement of our collective resolve,” Chief Minister Singh remarked. “We are committed to creating a drug-free Manipur where our youth can thrive and contribute positively to society.”
The event underscored Manipur’s proactive measures against drug abuse, reinforcing the state government’s dedication to safeguarding public health and promoting a drug-free lifestyle. As the campaign continues, Singh reiterated his administration’s commitment to ongoing efforts aimed at eradicating the scourge of drug abuse from the fabric of Manipuri society.
