Security Forces in Manipur Seize Improvised Canons, Intensify Operations

Security forces in Manipur have heightened their operations across the state’s hill and valley districts, focusing on vulnerable areas to maintain law and order. These efforts have resulted in significant recoveries and stringent enforcement actions aimed at ensuring public safety.

In recent operations conducted in Churachandpur District, security forces seized three improvised canons known locally as Pumpi. This seizure highlights ongoing security challenges in the region, where such improvised weapons pose a threat to stability and civilian safety.

Moreover, security forces have facilitated the safe movement of essential goods by ensuring the passage of 357 vehicles along NH-2. Enhanced security measures, including the deployment of convoys in sensitive areas, have been instrumental in maintaining the free and secure movement of these vehicles.

To bolster security further, a total of 129 Nakas (checkpoints) have been established across various districts in Manipur. These checkpoints have played a crucial role in monitoring and controlling the movement of individuals and goods, leading to the detention of 68 individuals for various infractions.

The intensified operations underscore the commitment of security forces to enhance security measures and address potential threats in Manipur’s diverse geographical and social landscape. These efforts aim to safeguard public peace and stability while ensuring effective law enforcement across the state.
