Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu conducted an extensive review of the state’s disaster preparedness during a video conference from Tawang. He was joined online by Nakap Nalo, Advisor to the Minister of Disaster Management, and Chief Secretary Dharmendra from Itanagar.
The review focused on assessing the damage across critical sectors, including state and national highways, roads, drinking water supply, power infrastructure, availability of food and medicine, and personal property. CM Khandu emphasized the importance of maintaining vigilance and proactivity throughout the monsoon season, which is unpredictable and can cause sudden disasters.
He directed all departments to ensure their response teams are ready to handle any potential emergencies, even in areas that are not currently affected by disasters. CM Khandu reassured residents that the state government is committed to their safety and well-being during these challenging times.
